Nollywood actor and politician Desmond Elliot recently turned heads at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards with a bold and unique outfit that sparked mixed reactions online.

The 50-year-old celebrity wore a flamboyant black two-piece ensemble comprising a shirt and a skirt, featuring a striking elephant print. Despite the controversy surrounding his fashion choice, Elliot explained that there was a deeper meaning behind his decision.

According to Elliot, his outfit was a deliberate attempt to stand out and make a statement. As someone who is now more involved in politics, he believes that when opportunities arise, one should seize them and make a lasting impression. “I am more in politics now, and it means the few times you have the opportunity, just come out different,” he said.

When asked about the attention that comes with being in the limelight, Elliot replied that while he doesn’t necessarily love it, he is comfortable with it. He noted that as one navigates midlife, they learn to consider their feelings and live life on their own terms. Elliot’s response to whether he was experiencing a midlife crisis was tongue-in-cheek, saying, “That is if I am not still in it.”
