Bandits k!ll police officer and his colleague in Zamfara two weeks after promotion

Armed bandits have k!lled two Mobile Police Force (MOPOL) operatives in an attack on Tsafe town in Zamfara State. 

A security source told counter insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred late Sunday night, August 17, 2025 when the bandits stormed the outskirts of Tsafe along the Yankuzo road. 

The source said the operatives, who were on duty in the area, came under heavy fire from the attackers and lost their lives in the process.

LIB gathered that one of the officers, Abdulhamid Abubakar Gobir was promoted from corporal to sergeant two weeks ago.

A colleague who confirmed the incident said Gobir was on special duty from MOPOL 22 PMF Lagos State.

He was laid to rest at 42 PMF Mobile Base Gusau on Monday, August 18.
